Leonotis leonurus

A perennial shrub that has good drought tolerance and bares orange-red flowers in whorls through autumn into early winter. The flowers and seed capsules are used for cutting. Used in African traditional medicine as a treatment for fevers, headaches and dysentery. The seed capsules hold well through winter, providing sculptural interest in the garden. Grows to 2m. Not to W.A. 20 seeds.
