A good looking edible plant with oval to heart shaped green leaves overlaid with burgundy red. The leaves are a great source of proteins, vitamins, minerals and dietary fibre. The leaf tastes similar to spinach and can be used in the same way. The younger leaves are milder and are ideal in salads. Harvest leaves as needed, young stems can also be eaten. 400 seeds.

These 15cm short, dark-green leafy rosettes are a tasty autumn, winter and early spring salad. The leaves should be picked regularly after the first frost when they have a delicious, nutty flavour. Often self-seeding, they’re good around the base of fruit trees and are also easily grown in pots. 200 seeds.

A favourite salad green with a colourful twist! This variety has serrated, spicey, nut-flavoured leaves with a red vein, helping add a bit of colour and interst to a salad. Used in mixed salads or on its own with fetta and an oil/balsamic dressing. It has more ‘bite’ than normal salad rocket. This perennial, frost-hardy sorrel makes dense clumps of soft light green, arrow-shaped leaves and tall red pink flowers.
