Carrot

A carrot as white as snow!! This carrot has a mild sweet flavour and is almost coreless. When mature it grows to about 20 cm long, it is also suited to baby carrot harvesting as it has a very crisp, delicate flavour. The shoulders can get a green tinge if out of the ground, hill up if this is not wanted. 400 seeds.

A 15-20 cm dark-purple carrot with an orange core. Crisp and crunchy with a sweet flavour that would even help clear the haze from Jimi H’s eyes. A long carrot, thick at the top, tapering to a point. Strong growing and holds well in the ground. Great raw or cooked (colour fades when cooked). 300 seeds.
 

This French variety produces many, small, round carrots up to golf ball size. A fast maturing type very easily grown in shallow soils. Great for children's vegie gardens. A great all-rounder with flavour. A Nantes type carrot, 25 mm thick and up to 200mm long at full development. A versatile carrot that can be grown in any season. However, a particularly good overwintering variety as it slow to put up a seed stalk in spring and the tops are cold hardy. Crunchy, sweet and super early, this variety is one of the easiest carrots to grow - even in shallow or heavy soil. The smallish, conical, stumpy roots have a deep red-orange colour and great flavour. Best picked young once displaying a good orange colour.
