Cucumber

A fun, tasty high yielding variety that produces pale yellow round fruits. It is an early variety, making it great for areas that have shorter summer or one of the first cucumbers on the table in warmer parts of the country. Yellow skinned varieties are reputed to be more digestible. 25 seeds.

A high yielding, high quality Lebanese cucumber with thin skin, great flavour and very few seeds. A biet alpha variety which means that it can set fruit without being pollinated, greatly increasing the yield. Pick regularly and when small (10-12 cm long and 3-4 cm in diameter) to increase the season. High mildew and disease resistance. 20 seeds.

An heirloom from India that produces early. This unusual high yielding cucumber can be harvested when it is small & white-skinned or when it matures with a reddish skin. At both stages the white flesh is crisp, sweet & juicy. With early producing vines that can be trellised, it is great for small gardens & cool climates. 30 seeds.

Ideal for slicing, this popular cucumber has a lovely, dark green skin. Bears later than most, but yields well, has a long picking time and is famously disease resistant. 100+ seeds.

This German type produces many large, deep green 20-25cm long cucumbers with a smooth skin and juicy white flesh. Often used for ‘Senfgurken’ (pickled in a mustard seed marinade). This groundcovering, trailing vegetable needs a sheltered, warm position with plenty of watering and good friable soil, with lots of mulch to keep the soil moist. Harvest regularly when fruit is still green. Cucumbers are frost tender and should be sown indoors (in cooler climates) at 22C in single pots and transplanted into the garden in late spring. 50 seeds
