A striking wild, perennial strawberry with white flowers and red strawberries on long arching stems. An excellent groundcover and grows well in cooler regions, where it bares sweet perfumed fruit most of the year. Fruit is great for drying and the leaves and fruit can be used for herbal tea. This slightly frost tender, climbing vine has shiny, evergreen foliage and stunning purple and white flowers over the warmer months. The delicious, purple fruit can be picked while still smooth and the juicy mash inside can be eaten once the skin goes wrinkly. An evergreen, 1.5meter tall shrub, originally from South America with edible 2cm round, orange fruit enclosed in papery calyces. This delicious berry is high in vitamin C and can be eaten raw or cooked in jams. They mature in late summer-autumn and need a protected position in frost prone areas.
