
GOLDEN ALYSSUM
Alyssum saxatile
A popular garden plant that has been used ornamentally since the 16th Century. A hardy perennial with a compact habit, growing to 15 cm, covered in golden-yellow flowers. Attracts beneficial insect, especially bees. Also known as ‘madwort’, as it was once thought to cure madness! Native to Central and South-eastern Europe. Prefers full sun in well drained soils. Can be used in rock gardens. Not to WA. 40 seeds.
Sowing Instructions
Sow direct to garden or into a pot to transplant once frosts have passed. Thinly cover seed, keep moist and warm (20˚C+). Germinates in 1-3 weeks.
