
Mustard ‘Chirimen Hakarashi’
Brassica juncea
Add some zest to your salads with this popular Japanese mustard green. Can also be used in stir-fries, pies etc., the mustardy hot taste mellows when cooked. The bright green leaves can be used baby or fully sized and have frilly margins. As the plants mature the leaves become hotter/spicier. Handles frost and slow to bolt in summer. 300 seeds.
Sowing Instructions
Sow from early spring to early autumn directly into garden (thin to 20cm between plants) for an autumn-winter harvest. All mustards run to seed in warm weather so plant every 3 weeks for a constant supply. Cover seeds thinly and keep moist.
