This unusual species from New Zealand is related to the Sturt Desert Pea. An evergreen shrub or scrambling climber with attractive deep pink/red, clustered pea flowers in spring. A moderately frost hardy evergreen plant best grown in full sun to semi shade in average garden soil. Prune back regularly. 12 seeds
Sowing Instructions
To shorten germination period use sandpaper/nail file to slightly damage these hard-shelled seeds, leave in water overnight to swell. Sow into pots, keep moist and warm (15-20˚C). Seedlings are frost tender and dislike overwatering. Transplant when you have 6-8 true leaves (protect seedlings from slugs).
