Shallot ‘Golden Brittany’ F1
Allium cepa var. aggregatum
A true classic of the French kitchen garden. These elegant, shallots produce teardrop-shaped bulbs (30-50mm) with a copper-gold skin & pale, rose-tinged flesh. Prized by chefs and home cooks for their refined, complex flavour — sweeter and more nuanced than an onion. In the 2nd year the bulbs can be planted & will multiply into clusters. 1 pkt = 100 seeds. Bulk seed available.
Sowing Instructions
Best sown in trays to transplant later to a weed-free bed. Harvest when leaves turn yellow; cure bulbs by hanging in a dry spot with good air flow. Bulbs store for 6-8 months in cool, dry conditions. Plant into raised beds as does not like wet ground.
